Ivica Matošević is a prominent figure in Croatian winemaking, often hailed as one of the country's best winemakers. He founded his winery in 1996 in Istria, focusing on high-quality wines from indigenous varieties. The Grimalda vineyards are situated in central Istria, near the village of Grimalda, at an altitude of approximately 300 meters above sea level. The vineyards are characterized by steep slopes (25–35%) and chalky soils, contributing to the unique terroir of the region. The Grimalda wines are produced from organic vineyards, with certification currently underway.
