By Farr is a family-owned winery established in 1994 by Gary Farr and his son Nick, located in the cool-climate region of Geelong, approximately 80 km southwest of Melbourne. The Farrside vineyard, planted in 2001, is situated on a northeast-facing slope with black volcanic soil over limestone. The vineyard employs organic and sustainable farming practices, including cover cropping and mulching, to maintain vine health and soil quality. The vines are a mix of clones oriented east-west to protect the fruit from overexposure to the sun.
